Two Bowie residents are victims of yet another phone scam that seeks to steal money based on false information.

Bowie Police Detective Randy Hanson is investigating a pair of scams where more than $8,000 was stolen. He explained they are simply a new version of an old scam

‘STAAR” party a big hit at Bowie Intermediate

Bowie Intermediate School students, staff and families enjoyed a “STAAR” Party on April 18 celebrating the hard work of all preparing for STAAR testing as well as other year’s successes. There were about 200 students and parents attending to enjoy the activities that included telescopes provided through the 3Rivers Foundation. Bowie ISD bond town halls on April 24

There will be two town hall meetings on April 24 where the proposed $65.8 million bond election for Bowie Independent School District will be discussed.
Superintendent Blake Enlow will review the May 4 bond proposal from noon to 1 p.m at the administration office, 404 E. Williams, and 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the junior high school auditorium.
Citizens are invited to attend the town hall that suits their schedule.
