Today’s Texas High School Bass Association tournament has been moved from Ray Hubbard Lake in Forney to Joe Pool Lake in Cedar Hill.
This will mark Bowie High School’s first-ever varsity fishing tournament experience.
Boat check takes place at 5 a.m. followed by the first cast at 6:45 a.m.
The move was made due to Ray Hubbard Lake’s low water level, BHS Bass Club coordinator Trent Gillaspia said.
“I’m a nervous wreck,” Gillaspia said of the upcoming tournament. “Once we get in the water, pass inspection and complete the paperwork, I’ll be fine. It’s going be intense.”
There will be more than 70 two-person teams competing. Read the weekend edition of The Bowie News for more on this story.
