YEAR IN REVIEW: Bowie golf course renamed Twisted Oaks

This past year was another one of difficult change for Bowie’s local golf course, with a new name and new ownership.
Dewayne Hamilton, Greg Vicars and Andy Duke bought the course from local lawyer Greg Underwood, and have taken a hands-on approach to remodeling the course.
The venue itself will evolve from an 18-hole to a nine-hole course. There will be a new clubhouse and pavilion. The previous clubhouse was destroyed in a May 2013 tornado.
In addition, Ron Moxom returned to serve as the course PGA professional.
Officials have said renovations will be complete by next summer. Twisted Oaks was the No. 3 sports story of the year.
