Montague County has received an agriculture disaster declaration that will enable producers to apply for assistance from federal and state disaster funding.
Members of the commissioner’s court met Monday and received the declaration and preliminary information. County Judge Rick Lewis said the disaster applies for those with a minimum 30 percent loss.
“We don’t have any solid numbers yet on the losses, so we don’t know what to expect, it all depends on the crop loss,” said the judge.
