A petition asking the Montague County Commissioners to call an election to consider creating a Bowie hospital district has been delivered to County Judge Rick Lewis.
Former Bowie Memorial Hospital Administrator Lynn Heller said he delivered the petition containing 164 names to the judge last Friday afternoon.
“I had more petitions with additional names come in since then, but those 164 are the ones I could confirm through the voter lists,” said Heller.
The petition will now be submitted to Montague County Clerk Glenda Henson for verification of those names as registered voters in the Bowie or Gold-Burg Independent School Districts. Read the full story in the mid-week News.
