A salad supper on Aug. 4 complete with homemade ice cream will kick off the 35th annual Forestburg Watermelon Festival.
The free supper will be at 6:30 p.m. in the Forestburg Community Center.
The festival is on Aug. 7-8 with a theme of “Honoring our community center founders.”
Locals are preparing some great salads for all to enjoy, and homemade ice cream will be served.
There will be an inspirational talk by Dr. Vivian Tomlinson. Her speech, “Remembering who we are and where we came from,” pays tribute to the women who had the vision of a new community center for Forestburg.
Tomlinson is a motivational speaker, Bible teacher, historian and educator.
