William Alonzo “Bill” Anderson
September 24, 1927 – September 6, 2015
BOWIE – William Alonzo “Bill” Anderson, 87, passed away Sept. 6, 2015 in Bowie, TX.
A memorial prayer service will be at 6 p.m. Sept. 10 at The White Family Funeral Home of Bowie.
A mass will be at 10 a.m. Sept. 12 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Casper, WY.
Bill was born Sept. 24, 1927 in Hot Springs, AR to John and Mary (Elmore) Anderson. He served his country in the United States Army from April 1950 – 1979 when he retired at the rank of Colonel after 29 years of service. Bill received numerous commendations and meritorious service medals including the Purple Heart, Bronze Star Medal with Valor, Silver Star, Bronze Star and Legion of Merit. He served in the Korean War, Vietnam War, and Cold War.
Bill married Joella Irene Anderson on Sept.6, 1952 in Casper, WY. He attended the University of Missouri where he received a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering and the University of El Paso where he received a masters degree in hospital administration.
Bill was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church of Bowie and served his community through the Boy Scouts, Rotary and Kappa Sigma Fraternity. Bill will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather and husband.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Anderson; and wife, Joella Anderson.
Bill is survived by his children, Mary Marta Anderson and her husband Robert George, St. Louis, MO, Sigrid Annie Koonce and husband Lee, Burleson, and Arn Anderson and wife Belinda, Bowie; grandchildren, William Wesley Eckley, Andrew James Koonce, Catherine Joella Koonce, Keelan Lewis and husband Kyle, John Carnan Anderson, Walter Delanie Anderson, and Bailey Joella Anderson; and great grandson, Cason Anderson Lewis.
Arrangements have been entrusted to The White Family Funeral Home of Bowie, TX.

Scott Leslie White

June 10, 1958 – February 6, 2025
BOWIE – Scott Leslie White, 66, died on Feb. 6, 2025.
In lieu of a memorial service, his family and friends will host a Celebration of Life gathering at a later date.
He was born June 10, 1958 in Denver, CO to Donald and Merle Ann (Beck) White.
After working direct sales for 25 years, he then returned to college and completed a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from University of North Texas at the age of 53.
He was preceded in death by his father Don; step-father Harold; mother Merle; as well as multiple siblings.
He is survived by his wife, Angela, Bowie; sons Franklin and Scotty; a brother and two sisters; and several nieces and nephews.
Cremation has been entrusted to Alexander’s Midway Funeral Home of Springtown, TX.

Catherine “Cathy” Bonilla

November 14, 1956 – February 8, 2025
BOWIE – Catherine “Cathy” Bonilla, 68, died on Feb. 8, 2025 at her home in Bowie.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
She was born on Nov. 14, 1956 in Henderson, KY to Whitey Templeton and Betty Tapp Templeton. She married the love of her life David Bonilla on April 2, 1975 in Lewisville.She volunteered many hours and helped many people at the Clear Choice Pregnancy Resource Center in Bowie. She was also a member at Freedom Life Church in Bowie.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband, David Bonilla, Bowie; children, Dereck Bonilla and Kathleen Bonilla, both of Bowie; sisters, Carol Riggins, Rowlett and Mary Templeton, Lewisville; and three grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to Clear Choice Pregnancy Resource Center, 110 W. Wise St., Bowie, TX 76230.

Joseph James Haid

April 17, 1945 – February 10, 2025
FORESTBURG – Joseph James Haid, 79, passed away peacefully at home on Feb. 10, 2025 in Forestburg, TX.
Joe was born in Wichita Falls on April 17, 1945. Joe attended the University of North Texas and was a member of the Phi Kappa Sigma Fraternity. After college, he served in the United States Navy and traveled the country with his wife, Jay.
After the conclusion of his naval service, he settled back to Texas and followed his passions for wildlife and music; as both a publisher of a wildlife magazine, “Wings and Hooves,” and as “JJ Bleu,” an award-winning radio DJ for KNTX Bowie. He was a long-time resident of Forestburg.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Franklin Haid and Bernice Marie; and his wife of 51 years, Jessica Rogers Haid.
Joe is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Marcia and Dan Carrithers; brother and sister-in-law, Edwin and Val Jones; nieces, Jessica Luckett, Jacqueline O’Reilly and Julia Jones; and nephew, Eric Jones.
The family would like to thank his loyal friends Peggy and Judy for caring for him in his final years.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Joe’s name may be made to the Denton Humane Society.
