Gold-Burg ISD Trustees discuss safety issues

Trustees of the Gold-Burg Independent School District directed their superintendent to explore options by which the district could protect students and staff, which could include allowing employees to carry firearms.

The board met Monday night and Superintendent Roger Ellis said there was a brief discussion on the safety issue, which had been requested by some board members. Two and a half years ago the district had similar discussions including a public meeting, but no action was taken. Read the full story in the weekend News.
