BOWIE – Juanita Jewell, 86, passed away Sept. 30, 2015 in Bowie, TX.
The family received friends from 7 – 9 p.m. Oct. 2 at The White Family Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Oct. 3 at the First Baptist Church of Bowie. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
Juanita was born Aug. 2, 1929 in Sara, OK to John and Annie (Morgan) Cox. She graduated from high school in Denver City, TX and then attended and graduated from Draughon’s Business School.
Juanita married Harold Jewell on Aug. 20, 1948 in Denver City. She worked at the Haskell Hospital and the Leveland Hospital. Juanita and Harold moved to Bowie where she worked as a bookkeeper for a savings and loan. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Annie Cox; and brothers, John Cox and Leonard Cox.
Juanita is survived by her husband, Harold Jewell, Bowie; daughter, Patti Glass and husband Kenneth, Spring; son, Larry Jewell, Irving; grandchildren, Chris Glass, Philip Glass, Scott Glass, Audrey Canady, Matt Jewell and Kyle Jewell; 13 great grandchildren; one great- great grandson; sister, Mary Ann Berry, Mineral, VA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Arrangements have been entrusted to The White Family Funeral Home of Bowie.
