It was an evening of data and figures Monday as the Bowie School Board conducted the annual public hearing on its state performance report and received the 2014-15 audit.
Christie Walker, director of curriculum and instruction, presented the Texas Academic Performance Report. This annual review covers every aspect of school operations from every nuance of test scores to the dollars spent on per pupil instruction.
Test scores take up the bulk of the report with district-wide information, as well as by campus details. Copies of the TAPR are available at www.bowieisd.net or at the administrative offices at 100 W. Wichita.
Walker explains in testing for 2014-15 the district students did quite well in all areas meeting or exceeding the state average.
“Teachers went in almost blind with the new test, but the students were able to surpass the state average in most areas,” said Walker.
