The Bowie High School fishing tandem consisting of Mitch Sanders and Jared Stone finished fourth out of 182 two-person teams at the Squaw Creek Tournament on Saturday near Granbury.
“It was a great day for Mitch and Jared,” Bowie bass club coordinator Trent Gillaspia said. “They found a hole with a lot of fish in it.”
Sanders and Stone caught 18.67 pounds of fish. The pair caught the bag limit, which is five fish.
Lane Hopson and Hadley Morgan also caught the bag limit, weighing five fish totaling 13.61 pounds. The pair finished 22nd overall.
High school tennis: Russells second at Graham
Meagan and Myah Russell finished in second place in girls’ doubles at the Graham Tournament this past Friday.
The Russells, who represented Bowie at state in 2015, won a tie-breaker to defeat a team from Wichita Falls Hirschi, but they lost to Iowa Park. Read more in Feb. 24 Bowie News.
