Two Montague County men were arrested this past week in unrelated sexual abuse cases that involved alleged incidents that occurred several years ago.
Montague County Sheriff’s Office Investigator Chris Hughes said Gary Arnold Griswold, 68, Bowie, was arrested on Feb. 17 and charged with a complaint of continuous sexual abuse of a young child. A $20,000 bond was set and he was released from jail on bond on Feb. 18.
The case was handled by Investigator Joey Stewart.
In a second case, Matthew Bennett of Nocona was arrested for failing to register as a sex offender, but a few days while still in jail was served with a warrant for sexual assault stemming from alleged incidents between 2011 and 2012.
