Bowie’s Jeffery Howard, Kameron Hill from Nocona and Bellevue’s Jakob Watkins all were named all-region selections.
Howard, Hill and Watkins have been named captains on the all-Montague County boys’ basketball all-star team released today.
All three of the all-region picks and team captains competed in the postseason, with Howard playing in the regional quarterfinals for a second straight year. Watkins once again reached the area round and Hill played in a bi-district game.
“It was a special season for our kids,” Bowie head coach Doug Boxell said. “They captured the community, and it embraced our style of play. We played hard, and we played together, it was fun to watch and fulfilling.”
Bowie was ranked for parts of the season, and the Jackrabbits finished with a second consecutive district championship and 24-11 record. The team defeated Gunter and Sunnyvale during the postseason before the Dallas Faith loss. Read more from this season review in the March 26 Bowie News.
