On Friday morning, the Texas High School Coaches Association reposted a job opening for a girls’ basketball and track and field coach at Wichita Falls Rider.
One day earlier, current Bowie head girls’ basketball coach Colby Davis-Pastusek declined the job because the Wichita Falls Independent School District changed the terms of the contract.
Does that mean Davis-Pastusek will be staying on in Bowie?
“The Bowie Independent School District has not received a resignation from Coach Pastusek,” Bowie Superintendent Steven Monkres said in an email to The Bowie News on Friday.
Davis-Pastusek had been primed to take the reins of Rider’s powerhouse Conference 5A program, replacing Ramsey Ghazal as head coach. But, ultimately those circumstances never quite materialized.
“The WFISD administration and I came to an agreement on the Wichita Falls Rider girls’ basketball job,” Davis-Pastusek said. “For unknown reasons to me, WFISD changed the terms to that agreement after I had verbally accepted the job.” Read more in the May 7 Bowie News.
