Bowie EMS seeking increase in stipend

Bowie Mayor Larry Slack Monday asked the Montague County Commissioners to consider increasing the 20-year-old annual stipend given to the ambulance service. Some members of the court questioned the financial information calling part of the cited expenses inherent with the operation of an ambulance service. There was a packed audience for the monthly court session, with Bowie officials including the mayor and several council members in attendance, plus Bowie police and ambulance service. Officials from Nocona General Hospital also were present. Slack made a power point presentation reviewing the ambulance service staff and equipment, along with operating expenses.
