Several North Central Texas College softball players were honored for their academics.
Sophomores Bailey Buchanan, Haley McCutchen, Megan Durante and Emily Gibbons were named academic All-Americans.
Buchanan, McCutchen, Durante and Gibbons also were named academic all-North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference selections.
Sophomores Grace Blagg, Kaylea Armstrong and Jessica Molina also were named to the academic all-conference team.
Other academic all-conference players are as follows, by sport:
Baseball: Carson Bowen, Ethan Patrick Davis, Kyle Bottger and Tanner Luna.
Women’s Tennis: Amanda Maria Alvarez-Bargueno Gomez, Kristin Hillestad, Favi Lopez and Allie Rike.
Volleyball: Victoria Alexander and Carli Clifton, who is from Windthorst.
To be selected to the academic all-conference team, a student-athlete must have completed three semesters of course work with a minimum of 36 credit hours that led to a degree.
These students must have a grade-point average of 3.25 or higher on a 4.0 scale, and must have participated in at least one season on the varsity level.
