The Bowie Booster Club met on Monday and finalized the date for the 2016-17 athletic banquet.
Bowie will celebrate all of this year’s accolades at 5:30 p.m. on May 15 in the Bowie Community Center.
Unlike last year, there was no debate on where the banquet would take place. Keep reading the Bowie News for additional details moving forward.
Bowie head volleyball coach Jeanie Stark presented a report covering the Lady Rabbits’ performance at the Nike ASC Tournament in Denton. She also covered the format for the dual meet set for Tuesday with Petrolia and Callisburg.
The boosters discussed the possibility of purchasing new track and field and cross country uniforms for both the high school and junior high.
However, coaches Chuck Hall, Doug Boxell and junior high coach Diane Weber have yet to submit a formal request.
It was announced during the meeting that Jennifer Clement and a hearty group of volunteers spent the weekend redressing the football locker room.
“It was definitely a team effort,” Clement said. “We couldn’t have done it without great friends and the supporters of our boys.”
The following people volunteered their time: Nicole Jordan, Jessica Ragan, Allison Clement, Stephanie Clement, Maci Spikes, Ashlyn VanWey and Amy Gould. Read more in the Aug. 17 Bowie News.
