COLLEGES: MSU player wins prestigious Rimington

Midwestern State University senior Akoakoa Peleka-Kennedy garnered the Rimington Award as the top center in NCAA Division II football.
The Hawaiian joins former teammate Marqui Christian as the lone Mustangs to earn top national honors.
Kennedy became the fourth MSU player to achieve American Football Coaches’ Association All-America honors earlier this month, joining a list that also includes Christian.
The offensive lineman was a first-team all-Lone Star Conference selection.
The Mustangs, thanks to Kennedy, had the second-best rushing attack in the conference at 196.1 yards per game. The unit allowed five tackles for loss per game.
He becomes the fifth player from the LSC to win the Rimington Award, joining Abilene Christian’s Sam Collins and Matt Webber.
