Alert play helps Bowie

Bowie High School head baseball coach Ryan Rogers said a little crafting went a long way in Tuesday’s District 3A-8 game. City View’s Bodie Oliver broke for second base, and Bowie pitcher Heston Tole calmly stepped off the rubber. Tole threw to Keck Jones, who eventually applied a tag on Oliver to end a Mustangs’ scoring threat in the top of the sixth inning. Jones had major put outs in both the fifth and sixth innings to keep the Jackrabbits ahead, and Bowie eventually defeated an improving bunch from City View, 7-5.
