Bowie Library opens Family Place programs

The Family Place Library program began this week at Bowie Public Library with activities planned throughout the month.
A Family Place Library is a center for early childhood information, parent education, emergent literacy, socialization and family support. It builds on the knowledge that good health, early learning, parental involvement and supportive communities play a critical role in young children’s growth and development.
Family Place play dates at the Bowie Library will be 10 to 11 a.m. on May 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30.
Play dates bring parents and care givers of children birth to three years of age together for an hour of play-based fun and learning. Each week a local professional will be on hand to answer questions or concerns on topics such as early literacy, food an nutrition, music and play, child development, speech, hearing and language.
This program is free and open to the public. Call the library at 872-2681 for additional information.
