RODEO: First-time barrel racing is a success

The full week of Jim Bowie Days rodeo began Monday with a barrel racing competition at the arena here in Bowie.
There was both a traditional contest, and a youth incentive. More than 60 people entered the event.
County Line Cowboy Church of Sunset served as the event sponsor.
Riders were given a ‘no time,’ even if they knocked over just one barrel.
