REGIONAL: “The Truth” wins men’s division at 3-on-3

There was a benefit 3-on-3 tournament at Muenster High School and Muenster Junior High gymnasiums this past Saturday.
Funds were generated for the Cal York Memorial Scholarship.
Carol Nored Cook, the wife of champion Muenster head boys’ basketball coach Lynn Cook and both Bowie natives, reported about $10,000 was raised.
Cook said the event will take place again next summer, but earlier – most likely in June.
York died in a one-vehicle accident 1½ miles north of Muenster on Farm Road 373. He was a starting guard on the Hornet basketball team which won the 2017 Conference 2A state title, and was the grandson of Bowie’s Jerry and Carolyn Cantwell. Complete results are available in the Aug. 5 Bowie News.
