Saint Jo Emergency Medical Services moved a few steps closer toward beginning a billing process for ambulance service.
The council approved a new city ordinance to allow billing, and Saint Jo Fire Chief Scott Thomas – who administers EMS service – announced a billing company has been selected.
“If they (Emergicon) collect $20,000 in a month, they get seven percent per month,” Thomas said in a message to The Bowie News. “That’s not bad.”
The ordinance should be finalized at the next Sept. 13 regular council meeting.
