The Bowie Lady Rabbits and Nocona Lady Indians provided an exciting competition worthy of a county rivalry during Tuesday night’s game, where the Lady Indians came out on top after four hard-fought sets.
Each set was made all the more competitive as both teams fight to earn a spot in the postseason, which includes four teams that sit in the top 25 of the Texas High School Girls Coaching Association poll. The Lady Indians sit at number 25 in the poll.
Despite their best attempts, the Lady Rabbits were defeated 24-26, 25-16, 23-25 and 23-25.
The two teams went back and forth in the first set, with neither team able to gain a good lead on the other before ending in an overtime score of 24-26 in Nocona’s favor.
It was Bowie’s turn to upset the visitors in the second set with the biggest score difference of the night when it ended 25-16, but the last two sets both swung Nocona’s way 23-25, 23-25.
