Formal interlocal agreements between Montague County and the City of Bowie Emergency Medical Services and Saint Jo Volunteer Fire Department will be considered when the commissioner’s court meets at 9 a.m. on Sept. 25.
These contracts for ambulance services in their respective areas were hammered out earlier this year as the stipends were increased for both entities.
Bowie will receive $75,000 on a three-year contract and Saint Jo will receive $35,000.
This was the first increase in the stipend in about 20 years after Bowie came to the court last year asking for a change.
In early 2016 Bowie said it would stop service outside the city limits as of Oct. 1, but later the city changed direction and said it would continue service.
