BJH principal may leave; Fleming name as interim (Update: Madrigal accepts new job and will leave district)

Bowie Junior High School may be losing its principal as Hector Madrigal considers a job offer in the San Benito Independent School District.
Local school trustees were informed of Madrigal’s consideration for a director’s job in the central office of the San Benito district.
Superintendent Steven Monkres said Madrigal has been offered the job, but the formal offer from the South Texas board was scheduled for Tuesday night.
Following an executive session during Monday’s night’s Bowie board meeting trustees voted to name Assistant Principal Jeneanne Fleming, interim principal pending Madrigal’s resignation.

UPDATE: Superintendent Steven Monkres confirmed Wednesday that Madrigal has accepted the executive director’s position with San Benito ISD, which was officially offered to him at a Tuesday night board meeting. This will be his last week with BISD.
