NOCONA – Edith Haney Richardson, 99, went to be with her Lord on Oct. 2, 2017.
A visitation was from 6-7 p.m. Oct. 4 at the Jerry Woods Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Oct. 5 at the Bethel Baptist Church in Nocona. Pastor Dale Berry officiated. Burial followed in the Nocona Cemetery.
Edith was born on Sept. 30, 1918 in Mt. Vernon to Ira D. Allen and Alice (Laws) Allen. Edith was the fifth child in a family of two boys and five girls, none of whom survive her. Edith worked for 25 years at the Nocona Boot Factory where she retired.
She was preceded in death by Elzie Morton Haney, the father of their five children and her recent husband, G. E. “Earl” Richardson, and her oldest daughter Marjorie Graham Block.
Edith is survived by four children, Wanda McNatt and her husband Steve, Nocona, Donald Haney and his wife Obie Lee, Saint Jo, Jane Price and her husband Richard, Austin, and Virginia Westergren and her husband Art, Fort Lauderdale, FL; 48 grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations in Edith’s honor may be sent to the Bethel Baptist Church, 310 Seventh Street, Nocona, Texas 76255.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Jerry Woods Funeral Home in Nocona.
