Dr. David Waters was formally offered a three-year contract as superintendent of Nocona Independent School District during the district’s board meeting Monday.
This was the first date following a 21-day waiting period when a contract could be offered to Waters, who was named the lone finalist. Waters and his family were at a a reception prior to the meeting Monday.
Dr. Vickie Gearheart said Waters has accepted the contract and will begin Dec. 1. Prior to that time he will come in at various times to work with the retiring superintendent and he will start work full-time working side-by-side with Gearheart during her last month with the NISD, which she has lead the last 12 years.
