Art & Science Night readied at Bowie Intermediate

Bowie Intermediate School will have art and science night from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 6.
Students are preparing science projects that will be awarded prizes this year. They have selected their own topics and will have project boards to share more information about their work.
Art teacher Cindy Hedeman also has been working with students to create some amazing pieces to showcase during the event.
Families and the public are invited to attend and view the project as well as take part in various interactive experiments in the science building.
The PTO is having a live auction and silent auction to raise funds for the school. Each science class is painting and decorating a pumpkin to look like a famous scientist.
Real scientists from the Midwestern State University Chemistry Department will attend and share exiting interactive experiments. Staff from North Central Texas College, local high school ag department, local veterinarian, Bowie Police and the fourth grade science teachers also will be providing activities. Special guests will be the third grade science teachers returning as pumpkin ninjas.
