The 10th ranked Bowie girls’ basketball team picked up its first win of the season Tuesday night, defeating Burkburnett.
Following two losses to begin the season, head coach Chuck Hall said the team was significantly in need of a win.
“We were in desperate need of winning a game,” he said. “We lost two tough games last week on Friday and Saturday, and we just really need to get the feel of winning back.”
The Lady Rabbits built a 15-9 lead in the first quarter, with 11 of Bowie’s points coming from senior guard Kamryn Cantwell. Bowie increased its lead in the second quarter. Back-to-back threes from Cantwell to end the half gave Bowie a 28-19 lead at the break.
