An alert citizen’s call about suspicious activity at a Bowie storage building resulted in a pair of arrests and the recovery of several guns and a large amount of ammunition possibly stolen from one of the lockers.
Sgt. Bob Blackburn of the Bowie Police Department said shortly before noon on Oct. 3 a citizen called the police department and reported two men were going through storage lockers located in the 900 block of U.S. Highway 81 North.
Police Chief Guy Green and School Resource Officer Travis Fuller were first to arrive and detained two men.
Arrested at the scene were: Jesse Colquitt Harris, 25, and Jerry Shane Sample, 34, both of Bowie.
Blackburn said police found both men had felony warrants for unrelated charges.
