Highway crash kills driver

Bowie Rural Volunteer Fire Department and Bowie Emergency Medical Service were called to this one-vehicle accident on U.S. 287 about 9:20 p.m. on Aug. 28. This 2001 Ford SUV driven by Tony Ray Clem, 66, Amarillo, crashed into concrete bridge column at the Farm-to-Market Road 174 overpass. Department of Public Safety officials said the driver for an unknown reason the driver left the roadway, entered the center median and struck a concrete bridge structure.     • Very sorry for your loss, it was a tragic accident. I have not received any information on whether or not there will be an autopsy, I would assume there would be one. Take care.
