Local marching bands’ seasons come to an end

After a tough day of marching competition in the 3A area University Interscholastic League event Saturday, the Bowie and Nocona High School marching bands did not advance to state, but will move forward to pursue the overall sweepstakes prize later this year.
The bands traveled to C.H. Collins Stadium in Denton to compete with 22 other top 3A bands. Bowie placed 14th out of the 23 and Nocona placed 16th.
Only the top four bands advance to state this year and those were Holliday who placed first, Van Alstyne, Whitesboro and Howe. Read the full story in your mid-week Bowie News.
