Nocona ISD adds back a day

In order to recover an instructional day that was lost Sept. 24 after classes were cancelled for a possible security threat, trustees of the Nocona Independent School District have made Oct. 15 a regular school day.
Superintendent Dr. David Waters announced the change this past week, noting Oct. 15 was previously a scheduled staff development/student holiday. On this date all three campuses will run normal schedules and bus service.
On Sept. 23 the district learned of a possible shooting threat from a former student, and after contacting local law enforcement the district decided “in an abundance of caution” to cancel school on Sept. 24.
