Bowie Police Officer Paul Magers has been selected to serve as the second school resource officer for Bowie Independent School District.
Police Chief Guy Green said the choice was made last Friday after a committee consisting of school administrators, police and one law officer from an outside agency interviewed the two candidates, Scott Hudson and Paul Magers. The group recommended Magers and the chief named the new SRO.
Magers fills the position left vacant when Travis Fuller resigned on July 28. Andrew Poole continued as the SRO. Read the full story in your mid-week Bowie News.
