Members of the Montague County Republic Party selected three candidates who will be placed on the Nov. 3 election ballot for county judge, treasurer and justice of the peace two.
The group met Wednesday to consider the resumes. Filling the ballot spot for county treasurer became necessary after LaVonda Langford resigned in late December 2019 with almost three years left on her term.
Jennifer Fenoglio, Nocona, was named by the commissioner’s court to fill the treasurer’s job, and although there was a March primary it was too late to get something on the ballot.
Fenoglio was selected for the Republican ballot for treasurer.
County Judge Kevin Benton and Justice of the Peace Two Jack Pigg were both selected to be on the November ballot for those positions to which they were named a little more than a month ago.
