Citing a change in job duties, Kenny Miller, trustee on the Bowie Independent School District Board, submitted his resignation during Wednesday night’s meeting.
Miller, who was elected to his second term last November, said the resignation was effective Oct. 31. With almost two years left on the term, the board could fill the position and it would be open on the next board election.
The board approved several large purchases using a combination of local funds and federal grant money.
For several years the board has been lobbied to purchase a district bus that has the popular colorful wraps usually with school logos. The district gave approval to what Superintendent Blake Enlow said would be a “trip bus,” featuring a Jackrabbit wrap.
