Cecil Bailey Hulse

NOCONA – Cecil Bailey Hulse, 96, died on Oct. 20, 2021.
A memorial service will take place at 10 a.m. on Nov. 20 at Nocona’s First United Methodist Church. Close friends attended interment at Nocona Cemetery.
Hulse was born in Lane, OK, to Bailey Hulse and Artie Helt. In 1968 he purchased Our Drug Store and a year later he moved the store down the street to a beautiful newly renovated building, where he renamed it Cecil’s Rexall Pharmacy. For 18 years he served Nocona and the surrounding communities. Prior to Nocona,
Hulse was a Pharmacist for 10 years at English Pharmacy in Wichita Falls. He was involved with several civic organizations, such as school boards in Konawa, OK and Nocona. He was on the administrative board of First United Methodist Church where he was a long-time member.
During World War Two, he served in the U.S. Navy as Pharmacist’s Mate First Class. Graduating from the University of Oklahoma, he began his career at Hulse-Bayless Drug Store in Konawa, OK. In 1953, he married Rose Miller, who was a registered nurse and a graduate of Vanderbilt University. They were married for 61 years before her passing in 2015.
In 2019, Hulse moved to Cherry Street Village Assisted Living and spent his final month at Grace Care Center.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Rose Hulse; son, Charlie Hulse and sister, Mabel Hulse Riccitelli.
He is survived by his sons, Bruce Hulse and Marcus Hulse; grandchildren, Sarah Hulse and Blake Hulse and nephew, Leonard Shumard.
