Plane crashes, four people uninjured

A landing gear problem appears to have caused a plane to crash just as it was landing at Bowie Municipal Airport Monday morning, but none of the four people inside were injured.
Those on the plane said it happened so fast it seemed unreal as the plane hit the runway without its landing gear engaging. The Cessna P210 slid off the runway into the grassy area and came to rest at a tilt.
There was a small fire under the plane as the pilot, Brian Anderson and passengers clamored to get out as quickly as possible. The crash happened about 11:40 a.m.
Passengers were Casey Lambert, El Paso, and his parents, Cliff and Glenn Lambert of Ruidoso, NM. They are family members of Bowie residents Cody and Leeann Lambert, who were waiting at the airport for them to arrive.
