‘Reel West’ images to be explored in Real West Symposium June 25

Saint Jo is busy preparing for the fifth annual Real West Symposium on June 25 with a pair of other special events taking place in connection with the Saturday event.
This year’s theme is “The Reel West,” which will focus on those western heroes we grew up watching in movies and on television and the impact those early cowboys had on the western image of today.
The symposium will feature speakers bringing unique views, conversations, stories, and information. Saturday opens with breakfast burritos and coffee served at the Stonewall Saloon Museum at 8 a.m.
Starting at 9:30 a.m. there will be a welcome in the Texas Theater along with a film clip. All speakers will be at the Texas Theater. Tickets for the full day of lectures are $70 and include lunch and breakfast. Visit realwest.org for ticket information or purchase tickets at Davis & Blevins Gallery on the town square in Saint Jo.
