We want you to be a part of the 20th Annual Chicken and Bread Days Heritage Festival. This fun-filled family event, produced by Main Street Bowie, celebrates the colorful history of Bowie, Texas. The festival gets its name from Amon G. Carter and his boyhood friends who sold chicken and biscuits at Bowie’s train depots in the early 1900s.
All of the festival activities take place within a three-block area in historic downtown Bowie
Coal Miners’ Heritage Festival is coming up Saturday, October 4th from 9am-3pm in Historic Downtown Bridgeport on Halsell Street . The streets will be lined with fantastic food, vendors, bounce houses, downtown shopping, college football viewing, washer pitching, pumpkin patch pageant, chili cook-off, pet parade, hot dog eating contest, Bridgeport Heritage Museum tours, and much more! The festival is hosted by the Bridgeport Area Chamber of Commerce, Bridgeport Main Street and Bridgeport Historical Society.
