Nocona rodeo ready to ride

Nocona will host the 62nd annual Chisholm Trail Rodeo at 7:30 p.m. June 6-7.
The action kicks off at 7:30 p.m. with the ever popular Mutton Bustin’. The rodeo will follow at 8 p.m. with bronc riding, tie-down roping, breakaway, team roping, barrel racing and bull riding. There also will be a nightly junior barrel race for riders 14 and under.
The rodeo parade will hit the streets at 5 p.m. Saturday, marching down Clay St. and then to the rodeo grounds. There also will be a dance following Saturday’s rodeo with Red Wall and his band providing entertainment. The Forestburg Riding Club will set the pivots and perform nightly.
Tickets are $6 in advance and $8 at the gate. Advance tickets may be purchased at Conoco One Stop or from a queen or princess contestant.
