Polished image – Sheriff attempts to revive old fashion shoe shine
If your boots need a shine, stop off at the Montague County Sheriff’s Office and step into the revival of a bygone era when shoes carried a sheen.
Using old, unused items, a trustee at the sheriff’s office has built a traditional shoe shine stand that is now open for use. Sheriff Paul Cunningham said he thought this was a method by which citizens could be welcomed to the office any time, not just when there is a problem.
“You use to be able to go to the barber shop and get a shine, so we wanted to revive that small social tradition,” said the sheriff. “We hope to get people to come by here because it is their office and they are welcome any time.”
