Bowie High School schedules eighth grade transition events
Bowie High School officials are planning a pair of events to help eighth graders transition to their new campus.
At 6 p.m. on May 7, there will be an eighth grade parent meeting at the junior high auditorium. Salli Page, student services at BHS, said she will explain high school graduation and testing requirements, and discuss with the parents the class options for their child in high school.
Then on May 11 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Jackrabbit Preview Night will take place at the high school.
This come-and-go event will given current eighth graders an evening to tour the high school, get information on classes and see all the different programs the high school has to offer.
Page said this also will be the night parents and students will sign a personal graduation plan for each student. A signed graduation plan is a requirement under House Bill 5 for each student entering high school.
This same night the 2015-16 cheerleaders will host a spaghetti dinner fundraiser. Cost will be $10 for adults and $7 for children ages seven to 12.
For questions call Page at 689-2837.
