Soldiers help stop spread of the fire
A 2014 Bowie High School graduate, now serving the United States Marine Corps, was one of nine soldiers involved in helping save the lives of two people when the camper they were pulling caught on fire.
Lisa Lowe, the proud Bowie mother of Lance Cpl David Tippy, shared the story of her son and his fellow soldiers helping put out the fire along a highway in Australia.
David is the 19-year-old son of Lisa Lowe and James Tippy. He graduated boot camp on Oct. 24, 2014.
He was traveling on a convoy of four vehicles when they saw a travel trailer being pulled by a vehicle on fire. They flagged the driver down to stop and helped fight the blaze. Read the full story in the mid-week News.

Montague County Grand Jury issues November indicted cases
The following indictments were filed with the 97th District Clerk following the November session of the Montague County Grand Jury.
There were a total of 13 indictments with one sealed awaiting the arrest of a suspect.
A grand jury indictment is not evidence of guilt. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
