AWARDS: Hanson, Cassetty receive top honors in Bellevue

Bellevue High School students Devon Cassetty and Michael Hanson were given the Eagle Awards at Tuesday’s Athletic Awards Banquet in the gymnasium.
Principal Michael Qualls read aloud the requirements for the Eagle Award.
The honor goes to an athlete who participates in at least three sports, participates in other extra curricular activities and leads by example in the school.
Bellevue coaches Colby Broussard and Bryan Goehring recapped the entire year in roughly 90 minutes.
It was also revealed to the audience Jakob Watkins and Cassetty are set to compete in the Texas 6-Man Coaches Association all-star basketball games this July in Wichita Falls.
Junior high school athletes also were recognized with participation certificates. Read a complete list of award winners in the May 21 Bowie News.

Bowie’s Cason Richey (right) and his horse Hello Lashes, qualified for the College National Finals Rodeo this month. Richey competes in team roping as a part of the Texas Tech University rodeo team as a freshman. The CNFR is scheduled for June 15-21 at Casper, WY.
