The Lady Indians win in straight sets at home against Whitesboro

Following a consolation gold bracket win at the Buckle Up for Lane tournament during the weekend, it would have been understandable for the Nocona Lady Indians to not play their best Tuesday against Whitesboro.
While the Lady Indians have played better, no one can argue with the result as they won pretty easily at home in straight sets.
Nocona was able to gain an early lead in the first set. A 9-6 lead quickly turned into a 16-7 lead and the Lady Indians never looked back. Nocona was able to coast the rest of the way as they won 25-16 to win the first set.
The second set did not go much better for the Lady Bearcats. The Lady Indians quickly doubled their early 7-3 lead to 14-6 and just kept it growing.
Whitesboro had trouble all night trying to get a handle on Nocona’s serves and their back row players had no answers for the Lady Indian’s well-placed spikes. Nocona won the second set 25-12.
The third set actually saw the Lady Indians trail for most of it. They were able to retake the lead in a 5-0 run to go up 19-16 and rode that momentum to win the set 25-18 and the match.
