Felon found with a gun

A traffic stop by a Montague County Sheriff’s deputy early Monday morning lead to the arrest of a suspect on complaints of drug possession and possession of a firearm by a felon.
Deputy Ethan Romine made a traffic stop on Theater Road outside Bowie about 2 a.m.on Oct. 22. That suspect provided information about a convicted felon who possibly had a firearm and drugs at a nearby residence.
Romine obtained a search warrant and the sheriff’s office executed the warrant at the end of Theater Road about 4:30 a.m. Monday.
The deputy arrested Eric Donavan Carroll, 27, after finding he was in possession of a pistol.
He was arrested on complaints of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of marijuana under two ounces, possession of a controlled substance under 28 grams and possession of a controlled substance under one gram. Bonds totaled $14,000.
As of Friday he remained in the county jail.
