Bowie volleyball hosts dual

The Bowie Lady Rabbits played two games at home in the early afternoon on Tuesday.
Playing 4A Iowa Park and last year’s 3A state runner-up Boyd, the Lady Rabbits would not have an easy task.
Bowie first played the Lady Hawks. The first set was close and competitive, but unfortunately it did not go the Lady Rabbits way as they lost 25-23.
“Iowa Park got us out of system some in the first set with their middle attack, but then we made adjustments and kept attacking the ball,” Coach Breanna Jones said.
The strategy paid off as Bowie came back to win the next two sets each with scores of 25-20.
The Lady Rabbits did not have long to relish in the win as they played the number two ranked team in the state in 3A in the latest coaches poll.
The Lady Yellowjackets won set one 25-20, but Bowie did a good job of playing with them despite the loss.
The second set went off the rails and the Lady Rabbits could never get back on track. Boyd won the second set 25-13 to win the match.
The Lady Rabbits next travel to Millsap to play at 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 20.
