Connie Stevens Hollowell

August 11, 1945 – December 21, 2024
BOWIE – Connie Stevens Hollowell, 79, went to be with the Lord on Dec. 21, 2024.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Dec. 26 at the White Family Funeral Home. A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Dec. 27 at the First Baptist Church in Bellevue with Pastors Robert Slayton and Ethan Hollowell officiating. Burial will follow at Briar Creek Cemetery in Bowie.
Connie was born on Aug. 11, 1945 in San Diego, CA to Pal and Evelyn Stevens. Connie accepted Christ at a young age. She graduated from Bowie High School in 1964 where she was selected as Band Sweetheart.
She married Bill Hollowell in Bellevue on Aug. 25, 2012. She worked many years in education as a paraprofessional in both Bowie Independent School District and Bellevue ISD. Her greatest loves were her family and spending time in the mountains.
Connie is preceded in death by her parents, Pal and Evelyn Stevens.
She is survived by her husband, Bill Hollowell, Bowie; daughter, Michelle Vassar Cassetty and husband Bryon, Bellevue; daughter, Jody Vassar Carter and husband Chris, Haslet; daughter, Karen Coffman and husband Toby, Ravia, OK; daughter, Toni Corbin and husband David, Tishomingo, OK; son, Steven Hollowell and wife Dana, Kingston, OK; sister, Debbie Ashley and husband Mark, Stoneburg; brother, Pal Stevens, Jr. and wife Darlene, Bear Lake, PA; grandchildren, Christopher Tate, Jasmyne Tate, Brandt Cassetty, Devon Cassetty, Chace Corbin and wife Megan, Jarret Corbin, Dani Corbin, Quinten Corbin, Kristen Franks and husband Shane, Ethan Hollowell and wife Kortni, Shelby Hollowell and Faith Hollowell; great-grandchildren, Aniyah Bonner, Ember Bonner, Zayvien Garrett, Shae Franks and Reagan Franks and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials can be made to Wise Regional Health System Dialysis Center in Decatur or First Baptist Church of Bellevue.

Gary Lynn “Buzz” Curry

January 7, 1943 – April 2, 2025
OKLAHOMA – Gary Lynn “Buzz” Curry, 82, died on April 2, 2025.
A viewing was from 9 a.m.-7 p.m. on April 8 with the family present to receive friends.
A funeral service was at 2 p.m. on April 9 at Mallory Chapel in Spiro, OK with Pastor Doyle Martin officiating. Burial followed at New Hope Cemetery under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home in Spiro. Pallbearers were Gary Stewart, Bill Ayers, Bob Curry, Sam Stewart, Ryan Sample, and Jesse Sample; and honorary pallbearers were Billy Clouse and Levi Jones.
He was born on Jan. 7, 1943, in Idabel, OK to Reese and Thelma (Singleton) Curry, he was the fourth of five children. The family later settled in Broken Bow, where his father worked as a meat cutter and his mother served the community as a nurse.
Curry graduated from Broken Bow High School and earned a football scholarship to Southeastern State University. He served his country by joining the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, serving overseas in Frankfurt, Germany. There, he also attended military cooking school at Fort Dix.
After his military service, he gave his heart fully to the Lord and pursued Bible ministry studies in Dallas where he met the love of his life, Diana.
Gary was a lifelong grocer, a trade he learned from his father. He served as Sunday school superintendent, a Royal Rangers leader, and a member of the Parks and Recreation Board in Bowie. While on the board, he helped lead projects to upgrade the local park , swimming pool and rodeo grounds—spaces he knew were vital for youth and community spirit.
He was a devoted Christian and a proud member of the Assembly of God Church in Bokoshe.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Glen, Gerald and Gene Curry; and sister, Judy Sample.
He is survived by his wife, Diana Curry; daughter, Terah Curry; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.

NOCONA – Kinsleigh Ann Dorman, infant, died on April 5, 2025
A graveside memorial was at 1 p.m. on April 11 at Elmwood Cemetery in Bowie.
Kinsleigh was born on March 28, 2025, at Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth. She was the daughter of Rylan Dorman and Kelsee Harrington.
She was preceded in death by her Mawmaw, Sherry Dorman.
She is survived by her parents, Rylan Dorman and Kelsee Harrington; older brother, Kyler Dorman; grandparents, Todd and Jessica Harrington, Michael and Chrissy Freeman, and Greg Dorman; great-grandmother, Martha Miller and several uncles and an aunt.

James Paul “Jamie” Herold

January 19, 1993 – April 12, 2025
BOWIE – James Paul “Jamie” Herold, 32, died on April 12, 2025.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on April 16 at the White Family Funeral Home in Bowie.
A funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. on April 17 at the Carter Lake Baptist Church in Bowie, with Darren Ward officiating. Burial will follow at Newport Cemetery.
He was born Jan. 19, 1993, in Wichita Falls. He graduated from Bowie High School in 2014. Herold was a member of the Carter Lake Baptist Church, were he enjoyed singing and assisting with music. He had a caring heart and loved to help and volunteer at Hospice of Wichita Falls.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Lori Meadows; aunt, Cindy Booth and uncle, Leonard Skelton.
He is survived by his grandmother, Darlene Skelton, Bowie; brothers, Paul Herold, Wichita Falls and Shawn Meadows, Dunnellon, FL; two nieces; two nephews; aunt, Tammy Perez, Bowie; uncles, Steve Sketon, South Carolina and Mark Skelton, Wichita Falls; and numerous cousins.
The family is deeply grateful for the care and kindness provided by Hospice of Wichita Falls, and should friends desire, memorials can be made in honor of Jamie to Hospice of Wichita Falls at P.O. Box 4804, Wichita Falls, TX 76308.
